Conditions for Ultrasonic-Induced Cavitation in Water

A study on ultrasonic-induced cavitation is presented. The experimental data shows that the onset of transient cavitation can occur well below the appearance of sub-harmonic emission. This result seems to be in agreement with predictions from the Kirkwood-Bethe approach.
