Comparison of Utilization Level of Knowledge-Based and BIM Technology by Contractors in Management of Construction Projects

2022
Knowledge technologies are one of the effective tools for process management in various industries and production. According to several researches, their implementation and use are beneficial, and this also applies to the management of construction projects. This specific sector is largely influenced by a large number of participants with sometimes conflicting interests. Nevertheless, knowledge technologies help the management process and increase the assumption of efficiency in a given sector. Knowledge systems in this area are closely connected with BIM technologies. There are several benefits to using these technologies. That is why it is important to examine their level of use and to map this phenomenon in the field of construction projects. This research is aimed at mapping the level of use of these technologies over the last 2 years and analyzing the trend of use in the management of construction projects. The main goal of the research is to compare the level of use of knowledge-based technologies and BIM technologies by suppliers in the management of construction companies. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
