VACUUM TECHNIQUES OF THE KARLSRUHE CYCLOTRON
1963
The special operating conditions are sketched which could result in the vacuum system of a cyclotron using a controllable magnetic field. The construction of the Cyclotron in Karlsruhe, producing 50-Mev deuterons, is described including details on the vacuum chamber, the pumping system, and its automatic pressure-dependent control device. The leakage rate was measured, and figures for the pressures obtained in the vacuum chamber are given. (auth)
