Legal trends in Corporate Governance: An Indian Scenario

Corporate Governance is consistently getting emphasis in India after the failure of Satyam which has shocked the India and the World because of its unethical practices. This fiasco has forced the policy makers to make necessary regulatory changes in India.These regulations are lifeline for attaining the investors’ confidence, development of the industries, creating shareholders’ wealth and the wealth of the nation. In this research paper an attempt has been made to study the various legal frameworks for corporate governance in India. The various regulatory changes in context to corporate governance are identified and reviewed. This paper also identified the importantproblemsin corporate governance in India.
