Free radicals in irradiated oleic acid
1973
Electron paramagnetic resonance was used to study the free radicals formed by gamma irradiation (/sup 60/Co) of oleic acid at 77 deg K in a rare gas atmosphere. The radiation yield of radicals and molecular hydrogen was determined. The presence of R and ROO radicals was observed. These radicals undoubtedly play an important role in radiation damage in oxygen atmospheres. (tr-auth)
