Prefetching for one parent core in a multicore chip

On a chip with at least one scout core, at least one higher-level core and a shared cache, which equally by the at least one scout core and the at least one parent core is used, the parent by the scout core prefetching code for monitoring core running. Prefetching code is run independently from the parent nucleus. The scout core notes on the basis of the monitoring of the parent core, that in the parent core of at least a predetermined data pattern has occurred. From the scout core a prefetch request is sent to the shared cache. The prefetch request is sent on the basis of at least one predetermined pattern which is detected by the scout core. A designated by the prefetch request data is sent through the shared cache to the parent nucleus.
