What are the key challenges facing palliative care internationally in the next 10 years

Five key areas ripe for development in palliative care were highlighted at the UK Palliative Care Congress in Bournemouth in March 2010 by members of the Primary Palliative Care Research Group at Edinburgh University. The presentation generated substantial interest, and hence we have invited this comment for the journal.
