A Study on the Model of Free Setting Station by Combining Total Station and GPS Receiver and Its Application
2007
In order to solve the problems of free setting station under poor visibility conditions and providing a theoretical model to calculate coordinates when using Total Station.Free setting station by means of GT(the survey method combining statistic GPS receiver and Total Station)is adopted to discussing the issues related to GT,creating the computation model for GT,testing the accuracy of processed baseline and judging the value of its processing error under conditions of irregular turning of GPS receiver antenna.A new free setting station method,GT,has been developed which combines static GPS and Total Station, and the computation model of GT has also been presented. The accuracy of processed baseline reduces slightly when GPS antenna turns irregularly, but still meets the accuracy requirement for topographic survey. The result shows Some problems arise in topographic survey such as adding control points frequently or setting a temporary control point because of large survey area, poor terrain, obstruction of view, etc. These problems can be resolved in low cost by GT method. The accuracy of processed baseline when GPS antenna turns irregularly has been determined. The computation model of GT presented in this paper will provide a conceptual foundation for developing Super Total Station.
