Silicon oxycarbide glass materials with metallic guests

The silicon oxycarbide glasses are an interesting class of materials with high thermal, chemical, and mechanical stability. This study involves the incorporation of various mixed valent metal oxides into the silicon oxycarbide glass matrix and the characterization of micro and macroscopic properties of these materials.
