Ternary-Phase NiMoWS 2 Catalytic Material for Hydrodesulfurization

2019
This chapter presents chemical synthesis using hydrothermal methods to achieve ternary-phase Ni-Mo-W low-dimension catalytic materials. The synthesis was achieved using ammonium thiotungstate and ammonium thiomolybdate in aqueous solution. The final ternary-phase product was evaluated using dibenzothiophene model molecule in conventional hydrodesulfurization reaction batch reaction; the estimated value of conversion was k = 25.2 × 10−7 mol/g s. In order to understand the structure/function relationships, a series of characterizations including high-resolution TEM techniques and electron energy loss spectrometry (EELS) are used, achieving observations of a microtube-like structure with a wall thickness of ~40 nm.
