Suppression of Plasma Gonadotropins, Testosterone and Sperm Production in Adult Male Monkeys by a Potent Inhibitory Analog of LHRH

1987
Suppression of circulating levels of reproductive hormons is desirable in some clinical situations, such as the treatment of precocious puberty and steroid-dependent neoplasms and the control of male and female fertility. Synthetic inhibitory analogs of LHRH are being developed as potential therapeutic agents for use in these circumstances, and as a prelude to human trials have been tested for their ability to inhibit reproductive function in a variety of animal models. Only limited information is available concerning the effects of these agents in male non-human primates [1–5].
