Experimental Study of Modular Falsework System with Wooden Shores under Various Path Loads

The study involves full-scale loading tests to evaluate the performance of an assembly of modular falsework system with wooden shores under different path loadings. Sandbag loads with different load paths were adopted to simulate the weight of fresh concrete during construction. The topics investigated in this study include the relationship between actual path loads and the designed uniform loads, the influence line effect, the areas of larger axial tube reaction forces, lateral displacements versus early-warning planning and reinforcement of lateral bracing. The test results reveal that the largest axial tube reaction forces occur during the load placing rather than after the load placing, but discrepancies in the largest values during and after loadings are not large under different load paths. According to the distributions of the axial tube reaction forces under different load paths, the influence line effect is not evident in the modular falsework system with wooden shores.
