Microwave hydrothermal synthesis and catalytic cracking of polyethylene of microporous-mesoporous molecular sieves (HY/SBA-15)

2019
Abstract This paper reports on a study of microporous-mesoporous composite molecular sieves that were synthesized via a microwave-assisted hydrothermal method and the synthetic products that have the characteristics of both microporous and mesoporous structures. The structures were characterized using different analytical methods including X-ray diffraction (XRD), nitrogen adsorption-desorption, and transmission electron microscopy(TEM). The synthesized products are short rod shapes with good crystallinity and uniform particle distributions and uniform pore size distributions of microporous and mesoporous structures. Compared to thermal or microporous catalytic degradations of polyethylene, the total conversion rate and liquid yield were significantly improved when the synthesized powders were used as a catalyst.
