Quality-Oriented Rate Control and Resource Allocation in Dynamic OFDMA Networks
2014
We consider the dynamic resource management and allocation with respect to users' personalized quality requirements in dynamic orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) networks with time varying wireless channels and bursty traffic. We first propose a new performance metric for evaluating the degree of user's satisfaction with respective to its personalized quality requirement. We then develop a qualityoriented joint rate control and resource allocation algorithm (QO JRCRA) with the aim to maximize the time average satisfaction of all users (SAU). QO JRCRA can be adaptive to the time varying wireless channels and bursty traffic without knowledge of external data arrivals and channel statistics, yet yields an SAU that can arbitrarily approach the optimal SAU achieved by an algorithm with complete knowledge of future events. Simulations results verify the theoretical analysis on the system performance and show the adaptiveness of the QO JRCRA.
