Deformation analysis of materials of 3D deformable solids using FEM simulation

In this paper, we present a method for physics-based dynamic deformation simulation of 3D object. In interactive virtual deformation simulation, there are many common linear and non-linear elasticity models for various deformable situations. We discuss constitutive models of common materials and analyze their differences. On account of their homogeneous and isotropic material properties, these models can complete the basic demand, but the simulation result is not realistic, thus we study a new method to improve this situation. According to the result of Cylinder model in the experiment, we come to a conclusion that the material stiffness matrix is important to the deformation consequence. In this paper, we take into account different physical parameters of actual object models which will influence the degree and mode of deformation, such as the Young's modulus and Poisson's ratio.
