GPS observation network in Indonesia that used for monitoring earth’s crust motion caused by earthquake, could
be utilized to observe water vapor contents in the atmosphere. Precipitable Water Vapor (PWV) estimation is
based on wet delay correction from GPS error measurement as the consequence of electromagnetic wave
spreading in the atmospheric wet medium. As the action for validating PWV of GPS network estimation, the
observation for calctulating PWV from radiosonde launcing campaign had done. Results showed the error
between PWV of GPS network and radiosonde. The error increased as the GPS observation far from location of
radiosonde launching. The atmospheric phenomenon such convective activity both local and large scale
influenced on dissimilarity of PWV observation. These GPS observation network can be utilized for numerical
weather prediction enhancement in Indonesia.
