X-ray structural investigation of the crystals of the monohydrate of L-arginine hydrobromide C6H14O2N4HBr.H2O

1992
By x-ray structural analysis the authors refine the crystal structure of L-arginine hydrobromide monohydrate C 6 H 14 O 2 N 4 HBr . H 2 O, the crystals of which were obtained from the system KBr-HBr-L-arginine-H 2 O at pH = 9 (molar ratio of KBr:L-arginine 1:1). The authors have made a comparative analysis of the structures of L-arginine hydrobromide monohydrate and the isostructural L-arginine hydrochloride monohydrate. On the basis of the revealed differences in the structures they explain the difference in the nonlinear optical properties of the crystals of these compounds
