Distributed panorama monitoring system and method thereof

The invention provides a distributed panorama monitoring system and a method thereof. The distributed panorama monitoring system comprises a video signal obtaining module, a video signal converting module and an image splicing module, wherein the video signal obtaining module is used for obtaining a plurality ways of video signals in a distributed type arrangement; the video signal converting module is used for displaying and storing a single way video signal, extracting the characteristics of the single way video signal, and interleaving and synchronizing characteristic information and the video signals; and the image splicing module is used for synchronizing and carrying out image splicing on the plurality ways of video signals. A plurality of cameras of the system require lowly in arrangement and can be arranged at different positions in farther distances respectively according to scene situations; with the adoption of the multi-camera panorama monitoring system, the viewing directions of the cameras can be selected according to demands of users so as to avoid the problem of shielding; the visual range and definition of a panorama image are improved because of the distributed type arrangement of the cameras; and the system is enabled to splice and combine different focusing images and furthermore compensate the geometric distortion of the images.
