O papel do enfermeiro no setor de pronto atendimento: um relato de experiência

To demonstrate the experiences about the role of nurses in the emergency department of a reference hospital in the west of Santa Catarina, by nursing students. Experience report based on the experience of undergraduate nursing students from UFFS in an emergency room. It became possible to identify that the nursing professional has an extremely important role in this urgency and emergency sector, where it requires responsibility, knowledge and organization, both in care and management. Given that the demand for this service is growing every day and that numerous situations arise in this context, having a qualified team contributes to the smooth running of the unit and good prognosis for patients. Also, to achieve good results, it is necessary to conduct permanent training and education for the team, in order to improve and update their knowledge to better serve the population that needs this service. The extreme diversity and complexity of the demand in this sector requires nurses to assume various roles, as manager, articulator, communicator and leader, so that together with his team develop all dimensions of care.
