Application of GIS technology in the evaluation of sensitivity to soil degeneration

The sensitivity to soil degeneration was evaluated in the west of Jilin province. The degree of sensitivity was divided into non-sensitivity, low-sensitivity, high-sensitivity and the highest-sensitivity. The evaluating cells were ascertained by means of polygon overlay in GIS system, there were 6 395 cells in the research area. The AHP model was used to ascertain the weightiness of evaluating element, the Fuzzy model was used to evaluate the level of sensitivity to alkali-saline land. At last, the sub area and videotexts of result were achieved by GIS technology. The result showed that the method in this paper could improve the precision of evaluation. The low-sensitivity was the most sensitivity to soil degeneration, the high-sensitivity and the highest-sensitivity were take the second place, and the non-sensitivity was the least.
