Analysis of Clinical Characteristics and Pregnancy Outcomes of Pregnancy Syphilis

Objective To investigate the clinical features of syphilis in pregnancy and the pregnancy outcomes. Methods Retrospective analysis on clinical data of 74 pregnant women with syphilis admitted to Yan'an People's Hospital from Jan. 2008 to Dec. 2012,was done. Results Among the 74 cases of syphilis pregnancy,there were 31 cases of natural childbirth,and 43 cases of Cesarean section,including indications of fetal distress in 25 cases( 33. 78%); among the 74 neonates,serum rreponema pallidum of 48 cases were negative,six cases of neonatal TPHA were positive and all RPR results were negative,during the 1-6 month follow-up of the six cases,they all turned negative naturallu. Conclusion Strengthening education and prenatal care can realize timely detection of syphilis in pregnancy,from which better outcomes can be expected through active treatment.
