Clinical Observation on Herbal Lotion for External Use in the Prevention of Dysfunction after Surgery of Tibial Plateau Fracture

Objective:To observe clinical effects of external herbal lotion in preventing dysfunction after surgery of tibial plateau fracture and recover the function of flexion and extension of knee joint furthest.Method: All 98 patients were randomly allocated into 50 cases in the treatment group and 48 cases in the control group.The treatment group received functional exercise after surgery and herbal fumigation for three weeks after surgery,ten times were one course of treatment,for three consecutive courses of treatment;48 cases of the control group were also given with functional exercise,clinical effects of both groups were evaluated after three months.Result: All the patients were paid follow-ups,the time were 6 to 18 months.Total effective rates of the treatment group and the control group were 90.9% and 69.8%.Conclusion: Herbal lotion for external use can effectively prevent dysfunction of knee joint after surgery of tibial plateau fracture.
