Experimental Realisation of Single-Carrier Alamouti-Coded QPSK Using Frequency-Diverse Dual-Polarisation RF Pilot Tones

A novel DSP chain using a pair of frequency- and polarisation-diverse RF pilot tones is proposed for single-carrier Alamouti-coded QPSK signal detection. The system's tolerance to static and dynamic signal polarisation is experimentally evaluated, with sensitivity penalties ≤ 1.5 dB demonstrated.
