A method of mounting a sensor in its housing and measuring device

To ensure accurate positioning of an electromagnetic or optical sensor in a housing (10) comprising a rigid base (14) provided with at least one wall (22) delimiting inside the housing outside of the housing, the base having an outer surface outwardly facing position, the sensor is assembled as follows: the outer surface positioning is placed in contact with a jig (44); the sensor (42) is placed in a mounting position at least partially within the housing, without contact with the base (14) in contact with the jig (44) through an opening (32) of the wall; a flowable material (52) is inserted inside the housing (10) so as to at least partially embed the sensor (42); and the flowable material (52) is solidified so as to fix the sensor (42) in position relative to the housing (10).
