[Combination chemotherapy with S-1 plus CPT-11 for patients with advanced or recurrent colorectal cancer].

Abstract Various kinds of combination chemotherapies with 5-FU as a base agent have been performed for patients with advanced or recurrent colorectal cancer. S-1 was a newly developed 5-FU derivative and was orally administered. One of the combination therapies with S-1 plus irinotecan (CPT-11) has also been expected to have a better therapeutic value. Recently this combination therapy has been undertaken by our department, and its clinical use and toxicities are described in this article.
