Method and device for displaying webpage

The embodiment of the invention provides a method for displaying a webpage. The method comprises the following steps: acquiring and presenting the current webpage; detecting and prereading the next webpage, wherein prereading the next webpage comprises presenting the current webpage and storing the content of the preread next webpage in a storage; detecting a movement gesture of a user input device; determining the movement gesture to be a sliding screen towards the first direction; and transversely displaying the current webpage on a display unit towards the first direction in response to the sliding screen towards the first direction, wherein when the current webpage translates to the visible edge of the current webpage towards the first direction and the sliding screen towards the first direction is detected, the state informing area is displayed on the display unit based on the condition that the next webpage has not been preread. Therefore, the response efficiency and the user experience are improved.
