Study of the low-temperature plasma treatment effect on the structure, physical and chemical surface characteristics of 40X13 steel

2019
Abstract The article examines the influence of a new unparalleled method of low-temperature plasma treatment at 300 Pa pressure on the structure, properties and corrosion resistance of 40X13 steel. Experiments proved that increase in corrosion resistance is achieved by means of innhibition of oxygen depolarization, changes in its limiting stages and, as a consequence, decreased formation rates of oxides and hydroxides of iron and chromium.
