Analysis of Seismic Vulnerability of Rural Houses in China

Most seismic disasters in China have taken place in rural areas (Wang et al. J Nat Disasters 14(06):110–115, 2005). So far in China, the research related to the potential vulnerability assessment has been made but most of them are limited to quake-affected areas (Yin Platean Earthq Res 13(04):34–40, 2001; Wang et al. J Nat Disasters 14(06):110–115, 2005). On the other hand, knowledge about the vulnerability of rural areas in the whole country was poor and inadequate.
