Salt water irrigation amount for different plants by drip irrigation: a case study in Yuli, Xinjiang.

2009
It aims to find the appropriate amount of salt water drip irrigation for five different plants by determining their growth of main morphological indexes in different levels of salt water irrigation amount(3 000,4 500,6 000 m3·hm-2·a-1) at nursery in Yuli,Xinjiang, including height, ground diameter, crown width and root/shoot ratio. The results showed that the suitable salt water drip irrigation for Tamarix ramosissima Ledeb.and Populus alba×Populus albavar var.pyramidal is 6 000 m3·hm-2·a-1,and the determination in September showed that the height growth and crown width growth of Tamarix ramosissima Ledeb.were 26.2 cm and 9 925.7 cm2 and the height growth, ground diameter growth and crown width growth of Populus alba×Populus albavar var.pyramidal were 8.3 cm,0.242 cm,605.0 cm2 under 6 000 m3·hm-2 ·a-1 irrigation amount. The suitable salt water drip irrigation for Populus×xiaozhuanica "Zhongtian" and Atriplex canescen(Pursh) Nutt.was 4 500 m3·hm-2·a-1,and the determination in September showed that the height growth, ground diameter growth and crown width growth of Populus×xiaozhuanica "Zhongtian" were 23.5 cm,0.269 cm,4 560.0 cm2 and the height growth and crown width growth of Atriplex canescen Nutt were 50.8 cm and 24 900.0 cm2 under 4 500 m3·hm-2 ·a-1 irrigation amount. At surface layer(0~5 cm),soil water content was the lowest and soil salt content the highest. When the depths of soil exceed 10 cm,the soil water and salt content did not change significantly.
