An effiecient way to extract pilose antler polypeptide and evaluation its role in the immune response

2011
The present study is to find an efficient method for extracting pilose antler polypeptide (PAP), and the immunological function of PAP was systematically evaluated. Sephadex G-50 Molecular exclusion chromatography and CM-Sepharose Fast Flow ion exchange chromatography were used to extract PAP which is more efficient than traditional method. Spleen lymphocyte proliferation assays and cytokine IL-12 secretion assays were used to study the immunological function of PAP. The different concentrations of PAP (4.5 ug/ml, 5 ug/ml, 5.5 ug/ml and 6 ug/ml) have significantly advanced effect on the lymphocyte cell proliferation. The result indicated that PAP may have an important immunological function to improve hosts' immunity in vivo.
