Armature Temperature Estimation Insensitive to Rotor Flux Variation for SPMSM

In order to estimate the armature temperature of a surface permanent magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM), it is important to estimate the armature resistance accurately. In this paper, a novel method is proposed to estimate the armature temperature of the SPMSM. The estimated armature temperature is obtained from the estimated armature resistance, which is estimated independently from the rotor flux in the SPMSM. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed estimation method was evaluated by the experiment.
