Study of effect of ferric oxide on thermal stability and degradation in compost of LDPE
2013
Three polyethylene films containing 0%,1%,2% Fe2O3 were characterized by X-ray diffraction and thermal gravimetric analyzer,it found that ferric oxide reduced polyethylene crystallinity and thermal stability. Some results of infrared spectrum and nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum have been found that the formation of carbonyl group and peroxide group on the polyethylene molecular chain was accelerated by the Fe2O3.The capture results of free radical catcher in the Fe2O3/LDPE samples showed that some small molecular as aldehydes and ketones or carboxylic acides and alkanes were found in the degradation process.
