The method of the ventilation apparatus, and ventilator

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ventilator, and a method of controlling the ventilator performing the ventilation with the air volume as designed for ventilation while reducing influence of change of pressure loss and a pipe on the air volume. SOLUTION: This ventilator includes a heat exchanger 2, an air blower 3 for air supply, as an air blower disposed in an air supply duct, an air blower 4 for exhausting, as an air blower disposed in the exhaust duct, a control device 5 as a control means, and an air volume setting device 7 as an air volume setting means. The control means sets ranks of pressure loss of the air blowers based on the driving voltage of the air blowers in a trial operation by driving the air blowers with a prescribed rotational frequency, to each of the air blower 3 for air supply and the air blower 4 for exhausting, and changes the rank and resets the driving voltage by detecting the change of an operating state, in a normal operation for driving the air blowers with the set air volumes set by the air volume setting means.
