Some Problems in the Design of Pile and Mat Foundation of Highrise Buildings

This paper presents the author's point of view with regard to such problems as the embedded depth of the mat, valuation of allowable bearing capacity in test pile, detemination of bearing stratum for piles, and the integrated design of peium and towr foundation existing in the conventional design of pile and mat foundation of highrise buildings in Shanghai for designer's reference.
