Building Intelligent Traffic Managment System With Science and Technology for High Transport Service During the Olympic Games

This paper is to discuss the exploitation and construction of the transportation systems for 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. From the point of scientific and technological Olympics, this paper illustrates several major works of scientific and technological transportation of the Olympic Games, and focuses on the five arguments as follows. First is to define the real need of Olympic transportation and to make up plans for the operation of its transportation. The second is by improving the means of management, to accelerate the exploitation and installation of the equipments used for the Olympic transportation. The third is, through the management of intelligent transportation, to provide high-quality transport services, and to set up the command and dispatch center\sub-centers, as well as the “122” transportation emergency calling center.The fourth is to improve the police outfit and to research and develop mobile communication vehicles, so as to guarantee the city\wide transportation and information coverage. The fifth is to equip all the police with digital wireless collective communication and hand-hold, in order to ensure the high efficiency of the command and dispatch system and the quickly reaction towards various accidents. Besides, this paper aims to set up special traffic lanes according to the distribution of places for Olympic activities. The paper also intends [LM]to explore the emergency reaction programs and the means of dispatch of the vehicles in such circumstances, so as to guarantee the in-time dispatch, in-time reaction and the unimpeded emergency traffic. Finally, the design on stadia and gymnasia and the information services for spectators have been advanced to realize the high-quality Olympic transportation services and to ensure that the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games to be a high-quality and satisfactory Olympics.
