Oral bacteria coflocculation inhibitor

2012
For the purpose of preventing periodontal diseases and preventing and reducing unpleasant breath odors, it is very important to inhibit the proliferation of F. nucleatum and P. intermedia . These species of bacteria are known to cause coflocculation. Therefore, it can be expected that periodontal diseases and unpleasant breath odors caused by these species of bacteria would be prevented and reduced efficiently by inhibiting the coflocculation. Since these species of bacteria occur in the oral cavity, it is needed to inhibit the coflocculation by a method that is not harmful to human bodies. An inhibitor of the coflocculation of F. nucleatum and P. intermedia , which is characterized by comprising lactoferrin, can inhibit the coflocculation of these species of bacteria without causing harm to human bodies.
