Sclerosing cholangitis-like changes in hepatobiliary tuberculosis.

2010
Tuberculosis is one of the most prevalent infections in developing countries and its incidence has been rising in developed countries in the past couple of decades (1). The majority of cases have pulmonary tuberculosis, while biliary tuberculosis is extremely rare (2). In an old autopsy series, Stemmerman (3) found only 45 instances (3%) of biliary tuberculosis in 1500 cases with tuberculosis. Furthermore, jaundice was present in only 3 (6.7%) of these 45 cases.
