2021
The loss of resources for public policies requires public authority a more integrated work. Therefore, the organizational networking becomes an alternative to support society’s demands of health. In the Brazilian public health system (SUS), it is possible to notice a process of authority’s decentralization, giving more management autonomy to municipalities, which have found in intermunicipal health consortia (CIS) a way to promote joint efforts from the jointly management of plans to provide several health-related services. In this way, this theoretical essay aimed to discuss inter-municipal health consortia as organizational networks in the public sector, showing how these networks can assist the management of health policies, by presenting the advantages and challenges of both implementation and maintenance of the CIS.
