Study on the Mechanism of Oxide Dispersion-Strengthened Pt/Pt-Rh Alloys

2009
The mechanism of oxide dispersion-strengthened(ODS)platinum or platinum-rhodium alloys was expatiated by dislocation theory in this paper. One one hand, the dislocation in the matrix was pinned by the highly dispersed second phase particles, which hampers the movement of dislocation. On the other hand, the migration of grain boundary and the growth of grains were hindered by the second phase particles, thereby enhancing the recrystallization temperature of the matrix. The material can be strengthened under the actions of the above factors. The in-depth analysis of the mechanism of oxide dispersion strengthening can provide a reference for developing better quality dispersion-strengthened platinum or platinum-rhodium alloys.
