The present research called The game as a methodological strategy to improve the learning
process in the mathematics subject of unit three “I am a living being”, in the third grade
students of the Escuela de Educacion Basica Dr. Reinaldo Espinosa de la ciudad de Loja,
teaching period 2018-2019. Alternative guidelines have as a general objective: to determine
the influence of the game as a methodological strategy during the learning process of the
mathematics subject of unit three “I am a living being”, in the third grade students of the
School of Basic Education Dr. Reinaldo Espinosa, from the city of Loja, 2018-2019 school
period. The work is of a qualitative nature and the type of descriptive study; non-experimental
design; methods: observational, analytical-synthetic, inductive, deductive, hermeneutical,
statistical and descriptive; the techniques: observation, interview, survey; instruments:
observation guide, structured base interview, written questionnaire; procedures for diagnosis,
theoretical basis, alternative approach approach; As a result, it was found that the teacher does
not know about the methodological strategies and the benefit of incorporating the game as the
main strategy in the learning of mathematics, which has generated the students' disinterest in
their learning. 22 students and the teacher participated in the research work. It is concluded
that the application of the game as a methodological strategy to improve the learning of unit
three "I am a living being" of the math course is essential to enhance the skills and abilities in
children.
