STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS OF ANY TYPE OF CONVENTIONAL BUILDING FRAME WITH FIXED JOINTS USING ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORK MODEL

2007
An artificial neural network model is used to calculate the rotational end moment and fixed end moment induced at the ends an artificial neural network model is used for the analysis of any type conventional building frame of several level with fixed joints under the action of the given loading in terms of the end moments for any member, the frame will deform so that any node i rotates through an angle τI. At the same time, no lateral sway will be produced. The final end moments Mik and Mki are determined by finding out the different components Mik and Mki separately it is achieved using a self-supervised algorithm. Assuming the effect of axial lengths of the bars of the structure is not altered. Choosing an appropriate neural network model and providing frame parameters to that network for training purpose are addressed by using unsupervised algorithm. The model is evaluated by using the Kanis method. In general, the new approach gives better results compared to several commonly used methods of structural analysis. The comparison with the Kanis'method shows that the ANN model performs best the results.
