Artificial rearing of Dendrolimus punctatus

Dendrolimus punctatus collected from the new occurrence places could complete its life(cycle) under the normal light,humidity and temperature when fed with pine needles in the laboratory after the sterilization of the surface of the eggs,rearing room and pine needles.The hatchability of the sterilized eggs was 91.4 %,the survival rate of the larvae reared in the lab was 92.54% and the emergence rate was 88.4%.The ratio of females to males was 1.08∶1.
