An Overview on Tissue Engineered Models for Cancer Study

2018
There is increasing recognition that three-dimensional (3D) tissue culture technologies have many uses within the biomedical sciences beyond the scope of regenerative medicine. Three-dimensional models show clearer results than other two-dimensional models for testing anticancer drugs. Advances in tissue engineering have traditionally led to the design of scaffold- or matrix-based culture systems that can better reflect the biological, physical and biochemical environment of the natural extracellular matrix. Since developing new therapies for cancer is closely related to the understanding of the basic principles that are applied in tissue engineering models. In this study, we introduce some tissue engineered models of cancer.
