Passages near Triple Collision

1988
To study passages near triple collision, in the planar three-body problem, it is important to know if it is possible to approach to and escape from collision in triangular configurations. This is related to connecting orbits between Lagrange’s points in the non-rotating triple collision manifold. The masses for which these connections exist are obtained numerically. The methods and results are described and some consequences are derived.
