Newly Synthesized Chromophore‐linked Iodonium Salts as Photoinitiators of Free Radical Photopolymerization

Chromophore‐linked (anthraquinone‐based and flavone‐based chromophores) iodonium salts are synthesized and able to initiate free radical polymerization of trimethylolpropane triacrylate under UV light irradiation. Red‐shift in maximum light absorption and high molar extinction coefficient of the newly synthesized iodonium salts lead to better photoinitiation ability than that of the commercial iodonium salt.
