Lead Contents in K-feldspars of Young Igneous Rocks of the Dinarides and Neighbouring Areas

1968
The K-feldspars form Tertiary igneous rocks of the Dinarides, as those igneous rocks are enriched with lead. Their lead contents are: in sanidines 43·5 (18–57) ppm Pb, in orthomagmatic orthoclases 40 (26–59) ppm Pb, and in late magmatic orthoclases 66 (41–74) ppm Pb. On the contrary, Pb contents of K-feldspars from young igneous rocks of the Balkanides are lower (20 ppm Pb in sanidines, and 37 ppm Pb in orthoclases). Accordingly, the lead metallogenetic province of Dinarides is clearly pronounced not only by many lead ore occurrences, but also by enrichment of K-feldspars and of Tertiary igneous rocks with lead. t Publication authorized by the Director, Institute for Geological and Geophysical Research, Beograd.
