ProposalofaNew High Step-UpConverter forUPS Applications

Thispaperproposes theuseofa voltage doubler rectifier astheoutput stage ofaninterleaved boost converter with coupled inductors. Theobtained voltage gainistwicethatof traditional boostconverters duetothedoubler stage, ascoupled inductors provide additional voltage gain, although voltage stress across theswitches isnotincreased. Theresulting topology is adequate forbattery sourced systems whichrequire lowcurrent ripple andhighvoltage gaine.g.UPS'sandaudioamplifiers. Additionally, itcanbeusedtoobtain symmetrical powersupply. Theoretical analysis and experimental results froma 1kW prototype areshown.
