Design of the Ross Pairs for Soft X-ray Spectrometer

2002
Summary form only given. The measurement of intense, low-energy X-ray pulses has received a significant degree of attention in the last few years because the Z pinch and other plasma devices have a great development. In this paper, the authors introduce a design method of the Ross filter pairs for a soft X-ray spectrometer. The spectrometer consists of 5 channels Ross pairs, 10 X-ray diode (XRD) and some oscilloscopes. This spectrometer covers the energy interval of interest (0.1-1.5keV) without gaps. The Ross pairs' transmission efficiency and thickness of each pair is calculated by a computer code in order to make the filters have a plain response to the given energy.
