Background: Children born preterm exhibit more sleep problems than their term counterparts from infancy to middle childhood. In addition, children born preterm are at increased risk of physical, neurological, behavioral and social-emotional delays and chronic medical conditions which may be further exacerbated by poor sleep quality.
