In the human body, the blood circulates to distribute oxygen taken into the kings by respiration to the organs and to collect and bring back to the lungs carbon dioxide accumulated in each organ. In a human body weighing 50 to 60 kg, blood has a volume of one twelfth to one thirteenth of body weight, that is 4 to 5 liters. It a circulates from the heart, by way of the blood vessels bringing oxygen and nutrients to all organs in the body. It is the pressure the blood exerts on the blood vessels during this process which is referred to as blood pressure.
